All new leads should be entered here, and continuously managed within this app. Each individual sale should be recorded in the Sales App and then linked to the Lead in this app.

Hi, is it possible to convert a lead to a client? Thanks!
You can modify the app to have it work for both leads and clients. You can add more category fields to mark it as Sale, New Client, Lost Client for example and have all information about the client you like. Here's how you modify the app: https://help.podio.com/entries/21658282-modifying-an-app
Hi, Is it possible to import the leads from an excel file?
Hey Luis, yes :) Learn how here: https://help.podio.com/entries/21684578-importing-from-excel
Sara, how can I have this app "chasing" everyone to call the lead?
You can modify the app to include them as responsible, assign tasks to let people know they need to call, or mention people or the workspace on the lead to remind them. Here's a few links:
You can also create views and reports on who's responsible:
Is there an app that can integrate the leads to another app, like Mailchimp to communicate with the leads using email?
Hey Linda! You can build such an integration via our API: https://developers.podio.com/ or contact a Podio Partner to help you build this - https://podio.com/webforms/2716831/200839
Is it in any way possible to link whatever you fill out about the lead to the different contacts in the company(the lead) instead of to the company(lead) as a whole? The point is to be more specific about which relationship you have with the different contacts within the company without having to register them as separate leads.
I can't seem to modify the contacts and if I separate the contacts into different leads, it's impossible to see who's who for instance when you link a lead to a meeting.
Hey Nadja, the linkage will only reflect first field of the item, like first name of the lead. This is the default behaviour of the app reference function: https://help.podio.com/entries/21683251-app-references
If you want all in one app you should build one app only to reflect the leads and contacts in same app. Here's how you build an app: https://help.podio.com/entries/21679818-building-apps
And the fields of the app builder: https://help.podio.com/entries/21697027-the-building-blocks-in-the-app-builder
Noob question: I don't see any view/display options to show that slick in-table bar graph. Has that been deprecated? I know that there were some changes to the UI since that screen shot, but I like it better than the default % view.
Hey Ethan, it is still possible to have the progress slider - will just only show as a number percentage in the table layout. If you have the progress slider shown in badge layout it will show on the badge.
Thanks Sara, I see that in badge layout now. I'd still like to see it in table view, so here's my vote for bringing that feature back in a future rev.
Appreciate it! I will forward your vote :)
In Sugar CRM we create and Account first (which is our reseller on certain market). Then a Lead is connected to this account, while Lead means something like opportunity. What is the exact meaning of Lead here in Podio?
I can see that the leads appear to be organisations, and I can create multiple contacts under one lead. That's great. However, I need to amend the Contacts form, so it include suppression flags i.e. opt ins and opt out flags. When I tried to find out where the contacts form is, I realised it is in fact the Workspace Contact form, and it doesn't look like it's an App I can actually edit at all, nor am I finding a way to export these contacts.
So my questions are: can I edit the Contacts form within the Lead Management app, and can I export contacts?
Hey Rok, you can decide yourself how to use your Leads app, so it is up to you to define it. All apps can be modified to solve your need: https://help.podio.com/entries/21658282-modifying-an-app
Hey Elite, you can't customize the contact field but you can add additional fields if you like by modifying the app. You can export all content from the app to excel or via the workspace contacts section.
If I can export all of my content to excel, can I import current data from excel as long as my column headers match?
Yes - see more here:
Thanks Sara, I didn't want to hand input 600 contacts
Hi, it would be great if there was the option to export only selected items to excel to be mail merged. Currently, the export feature creates a file with all leads in my database, then I have to go thru, and delete the ones that I do not need to mail to. This is not going to be doable anymore the larger my lead pool gets. Thanks!
Hey Aurelia, you can actually add a filter before exporting, then only the filtered items will be exported :) Here's how you create filters:
Thanks so much! I was able to narrow down the leads I need to export using this method. Great app!
Can leads be exported directly to podio from our website when a person enters their information in our 'contact us' fields?
Hey Candace, yes! You can use a webform for this: https://help.podio.com/hc/en-us/articles/201019628-Webforms
You can enable the webform directly from the Leads app!
Hi. Is it possible to display the phone number for a company in the "table view" so you don't have to click into the "Lead Contact" to retrieve it? This would be very helpful when prospecting companies by phone when you may only have the main company number, don't yet know who the right person is to speak with and need to move swiftly from one call to the next.
Hey Paul, sure - this is possible if you add a text field for the phone number in the app template: https://help.podio.com/hc/en-us/articles/201019298-The-fields-in-app-templates
You can add more fields in your template if you need more info shown :)
Hi. After importing leads from excel, is it possible to then assign the leads to different sales agents on our sales floor and also track their progress? this would be very helpful
Hi, I have created a relationship between Leads and Contacts however it seems to search specific fields and not the custom fields I have created. Is it possible for the Lead to search and display against custom fields? Two custom fields I have created are "Parent First Name" and "Parent Surname"
Only first field is shown (the title) when searching in a relationship field.
Is it possible to combine duplicates? They've already been imported
Hey Emily, only if you manually delete the duplicates and update the lead you want to keep. Here is how you delete in bulk using table layout: https://help.podio.com/hc/en-us/articles/201019808-Bulk-delete
Hi. Hope someone can help. I'm new to Podio. I am using Leads and Customers Apps and Projects. When someone progresses from being a Lead to a Customer, is there a way to transfer their personal info (name, address etc) to the Customer App to save typing it in again? Or, should I be using one App for leads and customers? Suggestions would be great. Thanks.
You can have one app for each and then create relationship between them. https://help.podio.com/hc/en-us/articles/201019288-Relationships
Thanks everyone. Great info and advice.
