Is this just for photos, or can you add text to the whiteboard?
You can also add text. If you need more text fields you can simply modify the app and add another: https://help.podio.com/entries/21658282-modifying-an-app

Is there an app where you can draw brain storms / mind maps directly? I can see I can systemize them here, whether they are electronic or hand written and scanned in..
Not in Podio, you'll need another tool for this and then upload your mind map to Podio :)
My Team would really love an in built mind map drawing tool. Is there any likely this will happen?
No plans at this point but you could build a function for it if you integrated Podio with another tool using the developers API: https://developers.podio.com/ - if you don't have a developer internally you can contact a Podio Partner for help: https://company.podio.com/partners-find
A web applet running shared mind-map editing, even in real-time... seems possible, is it a reasonable expectation? This template was a bit underwhelming, and confusing.

I agree with the previous comments. A mindmap app would be very useful. That is actually what I was looking for when checking out this app.
Anything happenend on this topic so far? Mindmap still needed!

Hello all who have inquired about Mindmap functionality embedded in Podio.
Best solution I've found is to use Prezi to create your mind-map / brainstorm / presentation / whatever and then post the link to the Prezi in a link field in your Podio app - it embeds the Prezi so you can view and edit it, live, right there from Podio. :)
